My main objective is to focus on those families who have a child “at risk” and who are not succeeding in life. So I chose to be an Education consultant who focuses just on the special needs student and that includes emotional and behavior challenges to include consequences of drug and alcohol use. I can intervene with the family of a student and get them to an option such as a wilderness program for stabilization, observation and assessment. If the needs dictate, I can then be of service to find a transitional program where both the academic and therapeutic needs can be best served.

My belief is that I am serving the entire family because all have been effected and all persons involved deserve the attention and the opportunity to reconstruct the family system. 

Ann has a master’s degree in education in counseling and guidance. For 20 years, she has been a teacher, counselor, executive director and marketing specialist in addictions treatment on a national level.
